Trucking Rates per Mile 2026
As of April 2026, national spot trucking rates per mile show Van rates at $2.68, Flatbed rates at $3.46, and Reefer rates at $3.12.

VAN RATES 2026
Van spot rates were up 6.3% vs. last month. Capacity remained relatively flat month over month, tightening just 0.1%, while remaining 89.6% tighter compared to this same time last year. April van contracted pricing is up $0.17 per mile over the spot market.
FLATBED RATES 2026
Flatbed spot rates increased (12.0%) vs. last month. Capacity tightened (33.9%) compared to last month and remains (81.6%) tighter compared to this same time last year. April flatbed contracted pricing is up $0.25 per mile over the spot market.
REEFER FREIGHT RATES 2026
Reefer spot rates increased (4.7%) vs. last month. Capacity tightened (1.5%) compared to last month and remains (145.5%) tighter compared to this same time last year. April reefer contracted pricing is up $0.09 per mile over the spot market.
