Trucking Rates per Mile 2025
As of December 2025, national spot trucking rates per mile show Van rates at $2.27, Flatbed rates at $2.54, and Reefer rates at $2.64.

VAN RATES 2025
Van spot rates were increased (7.1%) vs. this same time last year and up (8.2%) vs. last month. Capacity grew tighter by 18.0% compared to last year and 20.0% compared to last month. December Van contracted pricing is up $0.20 per mile over the spot market.
FLATBED RATES 2025
Flatbed spot rates increased (6.5%) vs. this same time last year and were up (3.7%) vs. last month. Capacity grew tighter by 72.7% compared to last year and 15.8% compared to last month. December flatbed contracted pricing is up $0.50 per mile over the spot market.
REEFER FREIGHT RATES 2025
Reefer spot rates increased (6.0%) vs. this same time last year and rose (4.3%) vs. last month. Capacity grew tighter by 83.3% compared to last year and 18.2% compared to last month. December reefer contracted pricing is up $0.15 per mile over the spot market.
