Trucking Rates per Mile 2026
As of March 2026, national spot trucking rates per mile show Van rates at $2.47, Flatbed rates at $2.95, and Reefer rates at $2.88.

VAN RATES 2026
Van spot rates were up 2.5% vs. last month. Capacity tightened 10.9% compared to last month and remains 93.0% tighter compared to this same time last year. March van contracted pricing is up $0.16 per mile over the spot market.
FLATBED RATES 2026
Flatbed spot rates increased 8.5% vs. last month. Capacity grew tighter by 89.7% compared to last year and 40.9% compared to last month. March flatbed contracted pricing is up $0.37 per mile over the spot market.
REEFER FREIGHT RATES 2026
Reefer spot rates were unchanged vs. last month. Capacity grew tighter by 120.1% compared to last year while loosening 4.7% compared to last month. March reefer contracted pricing is up $0.13 per mile over the spot market.
